A Day in the Life

A Day in the Life of a Big Picture StudentThe hallmark of a Big Picture education is our “one student at a time” approach. So while no two students will have the same experience, we can still give you a feel for what your daily schedule might look like as a Big Picture South Burlington Student. We have profiled both internship and non-internship days below.Monday/Wednesday*/Friday (at SBHS):

8:40 – 10:00am — First Block Class (ex: Chorus, AP Psychology, Study Hall, Yoga, Driver’s Ed, etc.)

10:00 – 10:15am — Break

10:15 – 10:30am — Morning Pick Me Up (student-led) and Announcements

10:30 – 11:15am — Advisory (all students meet together for support with projects, internships, supplemental work, team-building)

11:15 – 11:55am — Workshops (staff-led workshops around power assessments, Gateway process, service thesis projects)

11:55 – 12:40pm — Lunch (Juniors and Seniors may be given off-campus privileges with approval of parents/guardians)

12:40 – 3:00pm — Self-Directed Learning/”SDL” (research related to your learning plan, distributing surveys, going to the wood shop to build your final product, shooting footage for your movie, working in the recording studio on your LP, going to the art room to make posters — the sky is the limit!)
